   The Fear

   The Fear

   Fear, what suppresses his spirit from soaring. Venturing into new heights is but a dream long lost with the trials of his past. Jaded and torn, his soul mourns in agony. A facade over his face as the days go by, filled with empty people with a personal agenda. Apathy, no longer a trait sought after, has left the world in which he resides. But he continues on keeping that idea alive. A longing for complacency is what he feels, yet every experience is but a contrivance solution.
   
   The other one is his ambition. He wanders aimlessly through the domain in which chivalry is lost and the writer’s word will always be transparent. They come and go in the fashion of today and he can do nothing but accept the metamorphosis of the world he knew so well. Opening up to an extent, yet hindering his affection in fear of the despair that he assumes will follow. This is how he lives and conspires to do so until his time has expired.
   
   Though he lives through this facade, a glimmer of hope lies in his heart. He knows that a metamorphosis must occur within himself to achieve that which he longs for. Yet always cautious, always inquiring intent, these will not aid in his rehabilitation.
   
   Then she enters, a mirror of himself from what he perceives. He has yet to ascertain the inner qualities, but enjoys the outer shell which she projects into the world. A marvel in his eyes, similarities in their liking. He ponders on the course of action he should pursue. Yet for so long he has hidden, to expose himself once more would be a great hurdle to overcome.
   
   He anticipates a sign that perhaps he will allow himself to be vulnerable once more. But he is still agonized over previous events that he wouldn’t dare allow himself to endeavor a meeting once more. So he sits idle while every opportunity passes him. Though he realizes that his life cannot be hindered due to the past, he still sits and hides behind his mask.
   
   And yet again, his spirit is hindered and ensnared by his inner demon known as The Fear.
