This past weekend was pretty chill. On Friday, I picked up my cousin after work, but it took longer than usual cuz there was sooooo much traffic. Everyone was heading to Vegas and it just so happens that it’s the same freeway that I take to pick up my cousin. I was too lazy to map out an alternate route so a normally 3 hour drive took me about 4.5 hours to do.
On Saturday we went to watch the last Shrek movie. It was pretty awesome. I laughed so hard during some parts, cried during some parts (yeah, I cry at movies). I would totally recommend people to see it. After that we went to Best Buy to go look at TV’s but didn’t really find anything I liked so we went home.
Sunday, we went to church and then after that I forced my family to be spontaneous. We ended up going to Malibu beach since we’ve never been there before. The water there was hella cold but the weather was perfect. Needless to say the “view” at the beach was petty awesome (it is California after all). After that we checked in to a Comfort Inn in Santa Monica. The room there was really nice and they had a pool, but we didn’t go swimming because when we arrived the pool was about to close. We had dinner at a restaurant called Sansai. I finally got to eat sushi again and it was soooooo good. Their wasabi was pretty weak, but oh well. It felt comforting to have sushi after so long. Back to the motel after dinner to just chill and work on the church’s website. It’s not really looking how I want it to, but I’m just making due with the resources that I have access to.
Monday we check out of the motel and do a little shopping. We went to the promenade because we saw it on the side of the freeway and we’ve never been there either. I bought a new wallet that was on sale since it was Memorial Day. Walked around there a bit more, but most of the stores were closed since it was a holiday. Then we saw Best Buy across the way so we went there as well. I ended up buying a new TV from there. I haven’t had a TV in almost 3 years because I’ve always been preoccupied with school or work. But after talking with Kris about some of the documentaries he’s seen it made me really interested in wanting to see them all.
So I bought one and we subscribed to more channels from DirecTV which included The Discovery Channel, The History Channel, and more. When I got home I set up the TV and everything, but the DirecTV wasn’t working in my room. After looking around at the wires and whatnot I have come to the conclusion that the technician who came to install out system did a half ass job. When my mom spoke to our landlord turns out I was correct. The technician had only set up the line to go into one of our rooms even though my mom told him that we were going to set up another TV in my room. That just pissed me off because then I can’t really do anything with my new TV since all of my gaming systems are back in Hawaii. They said they’d be able to send a technician out on Friday at the earliest. I don’t know why but I was really pissed off about the whole situation and was just bitching about the lazy technician. It kind of left a bitterness in me towards DirecTV and their level of service. I’m very disappointed in that. So if someone from DirecTV happens to stumble across this post, SHAME ON YOU!
