So my friend Jenn (I have many friends with that name btw) suggested I read a book called “Born for Love: Why Empathy is Essential—and Endangered”. I went to the Barnes and Noble website and read a few pages from the first chapter. It seems like it’d be a good read. I know that I said before I wanted to read a fictional book for leisure, but this book seems really interesting. It brings up a lot of good points on the degradation of empathy in America, mainly due to the media. I think I’ll go pick it up tomorrow after work, provided they’re still open by the time I get there. I’ll let you know how it turns out, but I think you should pick it up as well if you’ve got the time to read it.
