Viva Las Vegas
So this past weekend was spent in Las Vegas. The drive to Vegas wasn’t so bad. I left at like midnight so there were barely any cars. I was, however, extremely tired. Luckily I remembered to bring my Zune so I had a lot of music and watched The Hangover when I got near the hotel where I was to pick up my cousins.
It was pretty hot there as well. The temperature on my car read 122 Degrees at the highest. Even though it was over 100, it wasn’t nearly as hot as Key West (damn you humidity). We stayed at the Stratosphere for the two nights, it was pretty lame. The A/C wasn’t getting as cold as we wanted it to and the handle on the bathroom was broken so we had to get it fixed. The time share, however, was pretty sweet. They had a really nice pool over there and it was really spacious.
I didn’t really do much gambling on the trip. I kind of just milked the penny slots so I could just keep drinking without spending too much money. Usually I’d go hit up the black jack machine because I don’t really want to deal with an actual dealer. I do fairly well usually, but I feel like a loser next to more experienced gamblers.
Most of the trip was spent in the rooms just hanging out with my cousins from Hawaii. Haven’t seen them in about a year so it was pretty cool to see them again. My grandma and one of my younger cousins are coming back to Long Beach after the rest of the family goes back to Hawaii. They’re staying until the 15th. I told everyone I’d take them to Universal Studios on Sunday since they haven’t been there yet.
The drive back was pretty crappy. There was so much traffic because everyone from California was heading back home as well. Plus the agriculture checkpoint slowed things down a lot as well. We finally got home at almost 2:00 am and then I had to wake up at 6:00 am to get ready for work.
So I’m pretty tired today, but it was worth it. Had a lot of fun with the fam bam and hopefully we can go on more annual vacations.
